1. WAS IST CETEBE® VITAMIN C RETARD 500 UND WOFÜR WIRD ES ANGEWENDET?
Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 ist ein Arzneimittel zur - Vorbeugung von Vitamin-C-Mangel, wenn die ausreichende Zufuhr durch Ernährung nicht gesichert ist, - Behandlung von Vitamin-C-Mangel-Krankheiten.
2. WAS MÜSSEN SIE VOR DER EINNAHME VON CETEBE® VITAMIN C RETARD 500 BEACHTEN? Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 darf nicht eingenommen werden: Wenn Sie überempfindlich (allergisch) gegen Ascorbinsäure (Vitamin C) oder einen der sonstigen Bestandteile von Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 sind. Bei Nierensteinen aus Oxalat und bestimmten Erkrankungen, bei denen zuviel Eisen im Körper gespeichert wird (Thalassämie, Hämochromatose, sideroblastische Anämie), dürfen Sie Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 erst nach Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt einnehmen.
Besondere Vorsicht bei der Einnahme von Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 ist erforderlich: Bei Patienten mit der Neigung zu Nierensteinbildung besteht bei Einnahme hoher Dosen von Vitamin C (2000–3000 mg/Tag) die Gefahr der Bildung von Calciumoxalatsteinen. Befragen Sie hierzu bitte Ihren Arzt. Bei nierengesunden Personen wird eine orale Dosis von bis zu 5000 mg/Tag für sicher gehalten. Bei der Einnahme hoher Dosen (>4000 mg/Tag) von Vitamin C wurden in Einzelfällen bei Patienten mit erythrozytärem Glucose-6-Phosphat-Dehydrogenase-Mangel (einer sehr seltenen Stoffwechselerkrankung) z.T. schwere Hämolysen beobachtet. Eine Überschreitung der angegebenen Dosisempfehlung ist daher zu vermeiden. Befragen Sie bitte hierzu Ihren Arzt. Bei Einnahme von Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 mit anderen Arzneimitteln: Die Gabe von Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 führt zu vermehrter Resorption von Eisen aus dem Gastrointestinaltrakt. Dies ist bei Eisensubstitution zu beachten. Bitte informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker, wenn Sie andere Arzneimittel einnehmen/anwenden bzw. vor kurzem eingenommen/angewendet haben, auch wenn es sich um nicht verschreibungspflichtige Arzneimittel handelt.

Nehmen Sie Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 immer genau nach der Anweisung in dieser Packungsbeilage ein. Bitte fragen Sie bei Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker nach, wenn Sie sich nicht ganz sicher sind. Falls vom Arzt nicht anders verordnet, ist die übliche Dosis: Bei Vitamin-C-Mangel erhalten Erwachsene 500-1000 mg Ascorbinsäure pro Tag bis zum Abklingen der Symptome. Dies entspricht 1-2 Hartkapseln Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 pro Tag. Nehmen Sie die Hartkapseln bitte unzerkaut mit ausreichend Flüssigkeit ein. Wenn Sie eine größere Menge Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 eingenommen haben, als Sie sollten: Nach Einnahme zu hoher Arzneimengen kann Durchfall auftreten, begleitet von entsprechenden Magen-Darm-Beschwerden. Die Einnahme von Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 wird dann unterbrochen. Andere Maßnahmen sind im allgemeinen nicht notwendig. Bei Schmerzen in der Nierengegend oder erschwertem Wasserlassen nach einer hohen Dosis von Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 ist unverzüglich ein Arzt zu verständigen. Zur Gefahr von Nierensteinen: siehe Abschnitt 2 („Besondere Vorsicht bei der Einnahme von Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 ist erforderlich“).
Wenn Sie die Einnahme von Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 vergessen haben: Nehmen Sie nicht die doppelte Dosis ein, wenn Sie die vorherige Einnahme vergessen haben.
Wenn Sie die Einnahme von Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 abbrechen: Eine Unterbrechung oder vorzeitige Beendigung der Behandlung ist in der Regel unbedenklich. Wenn Sie weitere Fragen zur Anwendung des Arzneimittels haben, fragen Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker. 4. WELCHE NEBENWIRKUNGEN SIND MÖGLICH? Es sind keine Nebenwirkungen bekannt. Arzneimittel für Kinder unzugänglich aufbewahren. Sie dürfen das Arzneimittel nach dem auf dem Umkarton nach „Verwendbar bis“ angegebenen Verfalldatum nicht mehr verwenden. Das Verfalldatum bezieht sich auf den letzten Tag des Monats.

Was Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 enthält: Der Wirkstoff ist 500 mg Ascorbinsäure (Vitamin C) Die sonstigen Bestandteile sind: Sucrose, Maisstärke, Stearinsäure, Schellack, Talkum, Weinsäure (Ph. Eur.), Farbstoff Riboflavin (E 101), Natriumdodecylsulfat, Gelatine.

Sonstige Hinweise: Frisches Obst und Gemüse haben einen bedarfsgerecht hohen Vitamin-C-Gehalt. Bei längerer Lagerung, insbesondere von Kartoffeln und Gemüse, kommt es jedoch zu unterschiedlich großen Vitamin-C-Verlusten. Im allgemeinen wird bei uns in Mitteleuropa dieses Vitamin reichlich aufgenommen. Hauptsächlich ältere Menschen sind infolge veränderter Ernährungsgewohnheiten häufiger unzureichend versorgt. Säuglinge, die mit Kuhmilch ernährt werden, brauchen zusätzliche Vitamin-C-Zufuhr. Außer bei Fehl- und Mangelernährung kann ein Vitamin-C-Mangel bei schweren körperlichen Krankheitszuständen auftreten. Eine seltene, sehr schwere Form des Vitamin-C-Mangels ist der Skorbut, der mit Schwäche und Blutungen im ganzen Körper einhergeht und medikamentös mit Vitamin C behandelt wird.

Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 hat ein bisher wenig beachtetes Problem in der Vitamin-C-Versorgung gelöst: Vitamin C kann nicht über einen längeren Zeitraum hinweg gespeichert werden. Wird zu viel Vitamin C auf einmal aufgenommen, wird es einfach wieder über die Niere ausgeschieden. Deshalb enthält Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 hochdosiertes Vitamin C in pelletierter Form, die eine langsame und gleichmäßige Freisetzung des Wirkstoffes bewirkt.
Denn ähnlich wie eine Zwiebel bestehen die Pellets aus sich abwechselnden Schichten von Vitamin C und einem langsamer löslichen Lebensmittelüberzug. Die Pellets geben so Schicht für Schicht das Vitamin C an den Körper ab und sorgen über einen Zeitraum von 8 Stunden für einen ausreichend hohen Vitamin-C-Blutspiegel.
Die langsame Freigabe des Vitamin C bewirkt außerdem auch eine bessere Magen-Darm-Verträglichkeit.
